Daily Sustenance

Heavy Ends. Long Notes.

We are a little obsessed with sustain here at the workshop and know a thing or two about how to not screw it up. Online debates rage for months about tonewood and parts and their effect on tone but very few understand that those selections affect how the vibration is lost to the instrument. That isn’t a bad thing. That is where much of the character of the instrument lives. A S-style guitar is chimey because it dampens the string vibration with a lovely fall off. Very forgiving and that is why we love them. On the other hand a T-Style guitar is a different beast. We deliberately set out to create “inertial anchors” in the design of our Plaincaster. The result is a fun, industrial strength instrument that rings for days and will last a lifetime.
